WIFI 6 Standard (802.11ax)

Wi-Fi 6 standard, also known as 802.11ax, refers to the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology, which focuses on improved efficiency and performance, particularly in crowded network environments with many connected devices; essentially, it's the technical name for the sixth generation of Wi-Fi standards set by the IEEE.

Improved efficiency:

The main focus of this standard is to optimize network usage by better managing data transmission between multiple devices simultaneously, rather than just increasing raw speed.

Features:

Key technologies like OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) and MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output) enable efficient data distribution to multiple devices at once.

Benefits in dense environments:

Ideal for places like stadiums, offices, or busy households where many devices are connected to the same network.

Naming convention:

"Wi-Fi 6" is a simpler way to refer to the standard compared to "802.11ax", introduced by the Wi-Fi Alliance to make it easier for consumers to understand.
